University Awards wins Best Ongoing Campaign

University Awards project team collecting the awardCongratulations to the University Awards project group, who saw the University Awards win 'Best Ongoing Campaign' at the Institute of Internal Communication’s award ceremony on Friday 29 September 2017.

The team, from Internal Communications and the project group, created an inclusive online and offline campaign to encourage engagement from right across the University. 2017 was the first year that the Staff Awards and CCSG Awards merged and the team were keen to ensure that staff from all parts of the University got involved. A website, digital screens, posters, roadshows, departmental communications, pull-up banners, videos and an insite homepage campaign meant staff were able to engage in a range of ways, with an increase in nominations and over 800 staff attending a celebration event in May.

Lawrence Young, Chair of the University Awards project group said:

This is a fantastic achievement and testament to the hard work of everyone involved in the project. The University Awards are a really important way of recognising the hard work and contributions of staff from right across the University and the increase in nominations this year shows that staff were keen to get involved.

The University Awards involved colleagues from Warwick Arts Centre, Internal Communications, Warwick Print and Design, Marketing, Warwick Conferences and Estates, meaning our success was a real collaborative effort."

Speaking about the campaign, the judges said:

This is an employee-centric campaign, it feels like an initiative being done by everyone and for everyone rather than being management-centric – so involving and inclusive. Despite the modest budget for execution this is clearly a highly effective and audience-appropriate campaign, with evidence of ongoing development. Well done."
