International Programme in the Leadership and Management of Higher Education


Higher Education is a multi-billion dollar industry and is recognised worldwide as a key engine of social and economic growth.

The Warwick IPLM is an intensive programme for university leaders and senior managers from within and outside the UK. The programme offers a comprehensive programme of study addressing key themes in 21st century international higher education. Aimed at academic and non-academic managers, the programme offers a unique opportunity to study at a leading British university alongside Higher Education leaders and practitioners from around the globe. The programme ran for its seventh year in 2016 and was designed to provide opportunities to explore strategic issues and management challenges in international higher education management with experienced professionals.

The Warwick IPLM is offered by the University of Warwick, one of the most successful research-intensive UK Universities with an outstanding reputation for strong leadership and successful management.

The programme aims to provide participants with the opportunity to reflect on the key challenges facing higher education, and the role which they can play in meeting those challenges.

  • You are likely to have at least 5 years senior management experience, ideally within Higher Education
  • You are likely to be working in a leadership role
  • You may be working as a manager within an academic or non-academic role
  • You will be looking for an opportunity to develop your knowledge of management practice within the HE sector.
