Writers at Warwick - Pete McCarthy - The Road to McCarthy

Comedian Pete McCarthy is the wanderlusting television and radio presenter - Travelog, Desperately Seeking Something, X Marks the Spot - and now the best-selling author who can't resist adventure, danger and stout. McCarthy's Bar went to number one in the UK, Ireland and Australia and Pete recently won Newcomer of the Year at the British Book Awards.

The second book, The Road to McCarthy takes irrepressible Pete on an epic pilgrimage to four continents in pursuit of far-flung Irish connections. He legs it from Cork and Belfast to Gibralter, Morocco, New York, Tasmania, Montserrat, Montana and Alaska.

An accomplished live performer who in a previous life was nominated for the Perrier Award and who compered at the Comedy Store, Pete re-lives The Road while you hold the map. A funny, engaging and warm-hearted evening. A book signing follows the show.

"Television's loss is literature's gain" The Daily Telegraph

"A hilariously funny writer" The Times
