CTCCS Conference - Translation in Global News

The Centre for Translation and Comparative Cultural Studies (CTCCS) will be hosting an interdisciplinary conference on 23 June.

Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), the conference will seek to provide an arena in which to discuss theoretical issues related to the role of translation in news production. Translation practices, strategies and ethics in the field of news, and more applied analyses of specific texts and narratives will also be considered.

News translation is a largely unexplored area which falls in between academic disciplines and has not been embraced by either Translation Studies or Media Studies. The conference will seek to redress this balance and will consider the importance of translation in the circulation of news for our highly interconnected world.
