Advice and Guidance (for practitioners)

For people working in an advisory capacity, this module introduces the personal and professional skills of advice and guidance. Although participants will be introduced to some useful theories of personality and interpersonal interactions, it is essentially a practical module with a focus on the personal development of the adviser. This is for people who have advice and/or guidance as part of their working life (paid or unpaid work).

Reading Materials (Indicative)

Reading materials will cover work by Donald Schon on Reflective Practice; Abraham Maslow on motivation and the hierarchy of needs; Bandler and Grinder on Neuro Linguistic Programming; Eric Berne on Transactional Analysis; Kold on Theories of Learning and Myers Briggs on Personality Types.
