Christmas on Campus 2009

Although many students have gone home for the festive period, there is a host of activities and facilities available at the University of Warwick for resident staff, students and the local community.

Warwick Arts Centre have a programme of exciting events for all the family including Cinderella by Lyric Hammersmith showing until Sunday 3rd January 2009.

Younger children might prefer The Snow Dragon - following the huge success of The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child, Tall Stories returns with the story of Billy the Goat and the mysterious Snow Dragon.

The Arts Centre will be open throughout the holiday period except for Chritsmas Day and New Year's Day.

The University Sports Centre will be closed on Saturday 19th December and Sunday 20th December. It will reopen on Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd December from 7:15am to 9:30pm. On Wednesday 23rd December it will be open from 7:15am and close at 11.00am, but will reopen on Sunday 27th December. From Sunday 27th December to Thursday 31st December the Sports Centre will be open from 10am to 3.30pm. They will be closed on Friday 1st January, but reopen on Saturday 2nd January with normal opening hours from then on.

The Chaplaincy will remain open from 7:30am to 10:30pm each evening as a 'drop in' centre for students who are still on campus - all are welcome.

University House will be closed from 6.00pm Thursday 24 December until 8.00am Saturday 26 December. At all other times University House will remain open to allow students access to the Learning Grid.

The Main Library will close at midnight on Wednesday 23 December 2009. It will re-open on Tuesday 29 December 2009 until Thursday 31 December 2009 (inclusive) from 11.00 until 17:30 on a self service basis only. Normal opening hours (08:30-00:00) will resume on Saturday January 2 2010.

The University will officially close from Thursday 24 December 2009 (Wednesday 23 December will be the last working day) and will re-open on Monday 4 January 2010 (the University will be open for work on the morning of Monday 4 January.)

The Spring term begins on Monday 4th January, when returning students and the beginning of a new year bring a flurry of activity. One World Week - the world's largest international student-run event begins on 22nd January and ends on 30th January and the Winter Awards Ceremonies will take place on the 20th and 21st January.
