Researchers at Warwick Manufacturing Group have developed an e-Engineering demonstrator which highlights the importance of using electronic technologies to communicate in a manufacturing domain. The DTI-funded demonstrator will be used in a one-day seminar targeting small and medium- sized enterprises where speakers from companies including TUV and Computer Suppliers Federation will highlight the importance of using e-technologies for data transfer and translation. Technologies incorporated into the demonstrator include Application Service Provision (ASP), neutral data formatting, business-to-business transactions and real-time collaboration.

Dr Vinesh Raja, principal investigator of the project, said: "We hope that by the end of this project, SMEs are convinced that e-technologies are the way forward in the manufacturing domain.”
