Duke of York Visits the International Automotive Research Centre

Today, His Royal Highness The Duke of York spent an hour and a half visiting the International Automotive Centre (IARC) in Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG).

His Royal Highness announced a new addition to the Advantage West Midlands funded complex. Corus Automotive have moved their research team to the IARC broadening the Centres's range of automotive technology.

The Corus team specialise in developing vehicle engineering solutions using the latest materials and manufacturing technologies. Professor Jon King and his team of 30 engineers provide cost-effective lightweight automotive manufacturing solutions.

Professor Sir Kumar Bhattacharyya, Head of WMG said: "We are especially looking forward to working with Corus. This will increase the range of ways that the International Automotive Research Centre can contribute to improved competitiveness in the automotive industry through the employment of smarter technologies and working methods."

His Royal Highness the Duke of York also spent some time viewing the Formula Student racing car designed by Warwick engineering students before leaving by helicopter for his next appointment.
