Summer is upon us and there is no better way to kick off the summer than with Warwick Arts Centre Summer Sounds - their most adventurous and energetic live music programmes ever.

Featuring a rich eclectic mix of artistes from the hip-hop, reggae, jazz sounds of Birmingham based urban poet Yussef Ahmed, the haunting melodies of New Yorker Nina Nastasia to the lyrical folk rhythms of Roger McGuinn, founder of the 1960’s rock band, The Byrds.

Also on the line up are the soul stirring sounds of three Latin songbirds, Susana Baca, Lila Downs and Yusa, dubbed the finest vocal talents in Latin music.

The programme climaxes with the spirited performance of Irish musical folk star Christy Moore and the intensely powerful vocals of American born Suzanne Vega, known for her hit single ‘Luka’ and her platinum hit album ‘Solitude Standing’. She is also credited with paving the way for the rise of artistes such as Tracy Chapman, the Indigo Girls and a host of others.

It is going to be a groovy summer at the Warwick Arts Centre.
