Student Union Awarded the Investors in People Standard

Last week the University of Warwick Student Union was awarded the Investors in People standard, much to the delight of both students and staff.

The standard was developed in 1990 and is a nationally recognised framework that provides businesses with the tools to improve performance and realise their objectives through the management and development of their people.

The Students' Union Human Resources Manager, Jacqui Clements said: “We’ve always known that the Students' Union is a great place to work. This prestigious and important award has reinforced this and really gives the valued staff the recognition they deserve for their work and unbelievable commitment.”

The theory, which mirrors the business planning cycle (plan, do, review), focuses on staff – developing their potential, improving their skills and ensuring greater job satisfaction. This ensures that the business as a whole, no matter the size or industry, functions more productively and efficiently.
