The University of Warwick has announced it will continue to fund the Leamington Street Marshals for a further five years.
Warwick to award honorary degrees to radio Reverend, Olympic rowing coach, dyslexia researcher, author, leading literary critic, and teaching innovator
The University of Warwick has announced today, Wednesday 16th of December 2015, that it will award honorary degrees to six people at its winter degree ceremonies which will run from 20th to 22nd January 2016. Those to be honoured include:
- Radio and TV cleric The Reverend Richard Coles
- Warwickshire born science fiction, fantasy, & climbing writer M John Harrison
- Renowned critic of Latin American fiction Professor Gerald Martin
- Leading dyslexia researcher Professor Margaret Snowling
- Olympic rowing coach Mr Paul Thompson MBE
- Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Teach First Mr Brett Wigdortz OBE
The University of Warwick has just announced that it has surpassed the goal it set of raising £50 million to invest in research and teaching by the end of its 50th anniversary year in 2015.
The University of Warwick and Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create a research partnership in cancer diagnosis and specialist cancer care.

The Warwick Prize for Writing announces today, 19 June 2015, its longlist of 13 titles under consideration for its 2015 edition. The unique biennial literary prize, run by the University of Warwick, is worth £25,000 and is an international cross-disciplinary award open to any genre or form of writing. The theme for this year’s prize is ‘Instinct’.
The Lord Mayor of Coventry hosted a lunch in the city last week for senior academics and administrators from 10 Higher Education institutions, spanning six continents.
Warwick and King’s College London, in partnership with New York University, plan a major initiative in collaboration with the GLA and the London Borough of Southwark to launch 'CUSP London', a branch of NYU’s Center for Urban Science and Progress, to be based at Canada Water from 2018. A new walking and cycling route through the University of Warwick that gives students, staff and local people the chance to make more of their everyday journeys without having to rely on a car, was officially opened on Wednesday 11th December by the University of Warwick and charity Sustrans.
