New NatWest Accelerator hub to open at University of Warwick

NatWest and the University of Warwick are opening a new business Accelerator hub on the University’s campus, with the focus on supporting and empowering students, local entrepreneurs, and local business owners to grow their businesses. Applications are now open for local businesses and students to join the first cohort, starting in January. 


Disability gap in young people’s post-16 destinations and employment outcomes revealed by new analysis

Important differences in the post-16 pathways of disabled young people compared to those of their non-disabled peers have been revealed in a new working paper from University of Warwick researchers. The working paper also documents the impact of different types of disabilities, and shows that disability inequalities in post-16 destinations and economic activity in early adulthood are also influenced by social class, ethnicity, and gender.


Warwick student sets up the Black Mind Initiative

The Black Mind Initiative aims to reform the current mental health system nationally, by encouraging young Black people to take up a degree related to the mental health profession, the initiative will then support them in their studies and encourage them to work in senior roles in mental healthcare.

Migrant Leaders founder to speak on inclusion in professional world – EUTOPIA Week

£6 million programme extension to help small manufacturers across the Midlands

The programme delivered by the SME Group at WMG, University of Warwick has been a major success in the West Midlands over the last 2 years, helping over 100 companies, develop 71 new products and processes, from automation and productivity plans through to the zero emission technologies of tomorrow. The team have been awarded a further £6m from to take them through to March 2023, meaning the team has gone from a 2 year £5m programme, to an £11m 5 ½ year programme. This extension will enable the team to operate from Wolverhampton and Worcestershire in the West, to Loughborough and Luton in the East Midlands.

The role of parents and carers in providing careers guidance and how they can be better supported, a new report from Warwick's Institute for Employment Research, presents evidence from the UK and abroad to make the case for strong relationships between schools and homes when it comes to careers advice and guidance, and highlights practical ways parents and carers can get more involved in helping their children think about careers.
