Shortlist Announced: 2019 Sunday Times/University of Warwick Young Writer of the Year Award

The exceptional debuts of multi-award-winning British-Jamaican poet Raymond Antrobus, The White Review Short Story Prize winner Julia Armfield, British-Brazilian novelist Yara Rodrigues Fowler, and writer and Creative Writing teacher Kim Sherwood have been shortlisted for the 2019 Sunday Times / University of Warwick Young Writer of the Year Award. It is the first year the University of Warwick, home to the acclaimed Warwick Writing Programme, acts as the title sponsor of the prize, following two years as its associate partner.

Warm welcome for Minerva Nottingham as new investment collaboration launches

Minerva Nottingham, a new collaboration between the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and Minerva Business Angels, part of the University of Warwick Science Park, has held its inaugural pitching event at NTU. The new group aims to raise the profile of opportunities both for growth companies and potential investors in Nottingham and the wider D2N2 LEP area.


Revealed: exoplanet’s ‘improbable’ survival

Using asteroseismology, a team including an astronomer from the University of Warwick, revised the parameters for two red-giant stars known to host exoplanets, and for one of them found that the planet should not exist in its current location based on current theories.
