More than 500 people took part in the workshops, talks and activities organised by the University of Warwick for this year’s ESRC Festival of Social Science. University researchers took to Coventry and Warwickshire’s streets, bars and community centres to share insights from their work with enthusiastic and interested audiences. The events tackled topics from the nature of time itself and the puzzle of DNA to taxes and accents.
Several academics at the University of Warwick have been awarded a UKRI Future Leader Fellowship, providing world class research in topics including autonomous vehicles to life in outer space.
The University of Warwick is one of 26 UK universities receiving funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) for its Impact Acceleration Account (IAA). The funding award was announced today  by the ESRC and followed a competitive, peer-reviewed process.
The Academy of Social Sciences has awarded a Fellowship to Professor Celia Lury, Director of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies (CIM) at the University of Warwick. Each year a number of Fellowships are awarded to recognise leading social scientists, who are judged on the excellence and impact of their work in using social science for public benefit.
An innovative installation developed by Dr Nerea Calvillo of the University of Warwick’s Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies (CIM) is one of the pieces chosen for display at the 2017 Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism.
