Some of the report's main findings covered in the report include the resources available to different types of families, the strategies they use to get by and parent's and young people's experiences of being 'food poor'. It concludes with some recommendations developed in collaboration with the Child Poverty Action Group.
In the years following the 2008 financial crisis and subsequent so-called austerity measures, household food insecurity has risen in Europe. This is different in each country. Families and Food in Hard Times (2014-2019) examined the extent and experience of food poverty in the UK, Portugal and Norway.
