‘‘Tis an ill cook that cannot lick his own fingers.’
Locally-sourced meals will vary considerably throughout the year as a result of the UK’s temperate climate. What will be available to eat in the different seasons? What could a locally-sourced seasonal table-scape look like?
The students of third-year Food and Performance module in Theatre Studies investigate these questions in their designs of four seasonal tables, each consisting of the produce available at that time of year. These table scapes evoke natural landscapes as they question food’s journey from nature to the table’s artifice.
