The Warwick Foyer and Care Leavers' Bursary

A £1,000 p.a. Warwick Foyer and Care Leavers' Bursary will be paid to Foyer residents, Care Leavers and students who have been in continuous full-time education and were in receipt of Income Support, Housing Benefit or Universal Credit (including the housing element) under the age of 19. The bursary will be paid in termly instalments and is designed to help with extra costs that may be incurred, such as accommodation during vacations.

In order to be eligible you need to be:

  • A home (UK) student.
  • Assessed as an independent student by Student Finance England, Student Finance Wales, Student Finance Northern Ireland or the Student Awards Agency Scotland and in receipt of the full student support entitlement.
  • Studying a full-time undergraduate course at Warwick.
  • Able to provide evidence to support your circumstances – a letter from Social Services confirming you have been in care prior to taking up your place at Warwick or evidence that you have been in receipt of Income Support, Housing Benefit or Universal Credit (including the housing element) during your post-16 education (Foyer residents will be referred by the Foyer Federation).

The Warwick Foyer and Care Leavers’ Bursary will be paid in addition to any other funding you are entitled to receive through the Warwick Undergraduate scholarships and Bursaries programme and you may also be eligible to apply to the Warwick Hardship Fund once you are in attendance on your course. The Warwick Hardship Fund is a hardship fund intended to help students in financial difficulty with day-to-day expenses and course related costs, such as accommodation, transport, books and utilities.
