Course Registration

What is Course Registration?

Course Registration is an annual obligation confirming that your personal details, such as addresses and contact details, and course details are correct and up to date. It also reaffirms that you agree to observe the Charter, Statutes, Ordinances and Regulations (in effect 'The Rules') of the University.

Course Registration is an online process which must be completed annually via Student Records Online. You will receive an email when you are due to complete course registration.

Returning from Temporary Withdrawal

Students due back to the University in September following a period of temporary withdrawal must follow the instructions in the letter they received confirming their permission to temporarily withdraw had been granted. Failure to follow this guidance will result in you not being able to re-enrol. You cannot resume your studies until you have re-enrolled. If you were temporarily withdrawn for medical reasons you should, again, refer to the above letter which sets out the conditions on which your return is contingent.

Why do I need to complete Course Registration again?

Students must complete Course Registration annually in order to be enrolled at the University. Students that do not complete Course Registration will no longer be treated as a student of the University and their rights (such as library and IT access) will be revoked.

  • It allows us to confirm that you are actually continuing with your course of study and remain eligible to use the Library and IT Services.
  • It gives you the opportunity to ensure that all the details we hold about you are correct.
  • It ensures we have an accurate picture of how many students we have on campus (and indeed off campus in the case of distance learning students) so can plan our facilities and resources accurately.
  • In many cases completing Course Registration also allows you to register for modules and/or examinations.

In the majority of cases students should complete Course Registration in August for the new academic year (eg. August 2019 for 2019/20 academic year). Please be aware that if you do not complete your Course Registration within the first few weeks of term you risk being withdrawn from the university.

How do I complete Course Registration?

For the majority of students, you will receive an email to your Warwick email address informing you that Course Registration is open. This is done on an individual basis and therefore may not be the same time for your housemates or course mates.

To complete your Course Registration, sign into Student Records Online using your Warwick IT username and password. Select the Course Registration tab, if you are not automatically re-directed there. If you need to exit course registration at any time you can do so any it will save your progress. Please make sure to complete course registration before you begin your studies for the current academic year.

The online form gives you the opportunity to update your personal details before completing Course Registration. Please note that should your details change in year, you can change some of this information throughout the year via Student Records Online.
