Off Campus Accommodation
If you would like to take over a vacancy in a Warwick Accommodation managed off campus property, the process will be different depending on the type of advert. The vacancy type will be stated in the advert.
Taking over a Warwick Accommodation Vacancy
Vacancies in University-managed off campus properties can be found online by selecting the groups looking for housemates box in the property search screen. You must be a full-time Warwick student not already in a contract with Warwick Accommodation and be a suitable occupant for the property. Any conditions will be stated in the advert.
If you would like to take a Warwick Accommodation vacancy, you will need to email accommodation at warwick dot ac dot uk with your name, ID number, the date you would like the room from and details of the room you are interested in. Rooms will be allocated on a first come first-served basis.
Taking over a Student Vacancy
Student vacancies in University-managed off campus properties can be found online by selecting the groups looking for housemates box in the property search screen. Student vacancies will have the student's contact details on the property page. You must be a full-time Warwick student not already in a contract with Warwick Accommodation and be a suitable occupant for the property. Any conditions will be stated in the advert.
If you would like to take a vacancy advertised by a student, then you and the current occupant will need to email accommodation at warwick dot ac dot uk with both names, ID numbers and the proposed date of the transfer. Warwick Accommodation will then confirm if the proposed takeover can take place. All relevant paperwork must be completed before the takeover happens. All amendments to your account will be administered by student finance. Please do not pay a student directly for a contract takeover.
If the student vacancy is for a group contract, then all other students named on the contract must all agree to the takeover. Warwick Accommodation will email the members of the group, but it is the responsibility of the student advertising the vacancy to ensure group members respond to the email before the takeover can take place.
Students looking for a replacement for an off campus Warwick Accommodation contract
Please complete the online form to advertise on the Warwick Accommodation website. Your room will be advertised on the property search page and can be accessed through selecting the groups looking for housemates option. We are only able to advertise Warwick Accommodation properties on this page. Please be aware it can take up to five working days for the advert to be created. You can also advertise your vacancy on the Warwick Students Union housemates wanted forum.
If you are looking for a replacement for your campus accommodation, you can advertise your room through the campus replacements form.
If you are an eligible student and you are not currently in a Warwick Accommodation or partnership accommodation contract and you are looking for campus vacancies, you can find them on the campus replacement form. If you are in a private contract you may want to seek advice from the Students' Union before entering into a contract.

From the third Monday of term one you can apply to transfer between campus halls, or from one off campus property to another off campus property managed by the University. You cannot apply to transfer between campus and off campus accommodation. This includes Study Inn, Liberty Park and City Village or City Point. If you are living in Partnership Accommodation, you cannot apply for a transfer to campus or to University managed off campus accommodation.
If you would like to transfer to a University-managed Off Campus room, you are not able to take a vacancy advertised by a student unless you have found a suitable replacement for your current room, and will only be able to apply through the transfer process for a Warwick Accommodation vacancy.
Students in partnership accommodation will need to speak directly to their accommodation provider with regards to transfer processes. It will not be possible to transfer from one partnership accommodation to another or to another off campus or campus room.
To apply for a transfer you need to complete the online form. You will be asked to provide preferences for where you would like to transfer to and information about yourself. You will need your University ITS username and password in order to access the form.
Transfers take place on an ongoing basis subject to the availability of suitable vacant rooms. Completing a transfer form does not guarantee a transfer. We will only contact you, if and when, we can offer you a transfer. There is a £35 admin fee for all completed transfers.Campus Transfer Request Form Off Campus Transfer Request Form
You cannot apply to swap between campus and off campus accommodation. If you wish to swap rooms within your campus hall, you must first speak to your warden and obtain their permission to swap rooms. Swaps also need to be authorised by Warwick Accommodation.
From the third Monday of term one (14 October) if you wish to swap your campus room with another student's campus room, or swap your University managed off campus room with another student's University managed off campus room please email accommodation at warwick dot ac dot uk. If the University managed off campus direct swap involves group contracts, the other students named on the contract/s must all agree to the swap.
The emails must contain the full names and 7 digit Warwick IDs of the students involved and the proposed date of the direct swap. We will check whether the swap is permitted and then we will email you both to confirm next steps. If we give permission to the room swap, both students will be required to authorise new contracts before they move into their new room. Both students will be charged a £35 admin fee.
