To make an application for first year undergraduate accommodation you will need a full time offer of study at Warwick that you have accepted either as your firm or insurance choice through UCAS. Before making an application for accommodation, you will need:
- Your Warwick University number, found in your offer email (please contact admissions if you do not have a University number).
- To have fully read and understood our allocation policy and accommodation options for first year undergraduate students for the 2019/2020 academic year
- To have applied through the appropriate process if you have any specific accommodation requirements, including health and disability needs (you will still need to submit an accommodation application.
The accommodation application deadline is 31 July 2019 so please make sure you have submitted your application by this date. If you have any questions, please email allocations at warwick dot ac dot uk
When you have completed your application form, please carefully check that your application details, including your accommodation preferences and their order, are correct on the confirmation page before submitting. You will also receive a confirmation email that will contain the details from your application. Please contact Warwick Accommodation if you have not received your confirmation email within 48 hours. You will also need to contact us if there are any differences between your confirmation email and what you have submitted.
Your confirmation email and any offers of accommodation will be sent to the contact email address on your student record which is taken from your UCAS application, so please ensure that this is correct on UCAS before applying for accommmodation. You will need to provide an email address you will still be able to access in September 2019.
If you have applied before the 31 July 2019 deadline, made Warwick your firm choice and met the conditions of your offer by 22 August 2019, you are guaranteed a place on campus. You will need to meet all of these conditions to be guaranteed a place on campus.
Yes, you should be able to submit an accommodation application. While it is always our aim to allocate all first year undergraduate students on campus and we have been able to do this for the past few years, students who have made Warwick their insurance choice are not guaranteed campus accommodation and you will be offered accommodation subject to availability. If Warwick is your insurance choice and have made an application but do not come to Warwick you do not need to let us know.
You will still be able to submit an application for accommodation after 31 July 2019. While we are not able to guarantee that you will be allocated a place on campus, we will endeavour to allocate you to a room, subject to availability. We will confirm arrangements for students joining the University through clearing or adjustment in August 2019. In years of very high demand, some late applicants may be asked to share rooms on a temporary basis.
You will need to submit the appropriate application as detailed on the specific accommodation requirements web page for your condition. Please be aware the deadline for your request being supported by the relevant team is 22 August 2019, so you will need to submit suitable evidence in advance to ensure there is enough time for it to be assessed.
You can see your accommodation options on the application form. If you will be under 18 on 21 September 2019, you will only be able to select en suite options as your hall preferences. For an overview of our undergraduate accommodation, you can look at the undergraduate residences web page before completing your application. Under 18 students who would like to be considered for a shared bathroom hall can submit a request to the Senior Wardens before 31 July 2019 which will be considered on an individual basis.
Most applications will be allocated through a random ballot which aims to match the highest amount of people with their highest numbered preference possible. Other applications are allocated subject to availability. While we aim to allocate you to a hall of your preference, we are not able to guarantee that this will be possible. If we have more rooms adapted for accessibility requirements than are required for the academic year, it is possible students who do not require adaptations will be allocated to an adapted room.
While we take your preferences into account, there is no guarantee that you will be allocated to accommodation which matches your preferences. It is also possible in years of very high demand that further accommodation options will be added or removed after you have notified us of your preferences and you may be allocated to an option that was not advertised when your application was submitted.
If you hold an unconditional firm offer of study at Warwick and have applied for accommodation online before Monday 15 July 2019, we will aim to allocate and send your offer of accommodation to you before 31 July 2019. If you are restarting from year one of an undergraduate course, it is important that you contact Warwick Accommodation as soon as possible to confirm your arrangements in this instance. You will be allocated accommodation subject to availability.
For more information, please see the allocation policy.
All family accommodation is managed through Staff and Family Housing . Please see their website for further information.
You can select up to three en suite halls as preferences in your application. You will need to submit a total of six preferences, including at least three shared bathroom halls. If you prefer, all your preferences can be shared bathroom options. Around half of our accommodation is en suite, so there is a chance you will be allocated to a shared bathroom hall. We would recommend only selecting halls you would be happy to be allocated to as one of your preferences. For more information on how we allocate please see our allocation policy.
If you're coming to Warwick, we will usually process your accommodation application after A level results have been released, when you have an unconditional firm offer of study at Warwick. There's nothing you need to do until we contact you regarding your allocation from late August. We will contact you about your allocation between late August and early September.
If you have an unconditional firm offer before 15 July 2019, you will not need to wait until A Level results to receive your offer of accommodation. Offers will be made to these students on a rolling basis as applications are submitted. If your offer becomes unconditional after 15 July, we will process your accommodation application after A Level results have been released.
