New Postgraduates 2019/2020

The priority deadline for applications for postgraduate accommodation has passed. You are still able to submit an application for accommodation, but it is unlikely we will be able to make you an offer of accommodation at this stage.

To make an application for postgraduate accommodation you will need to be a new postgraduate student with a full time, full year, unconditional or conditional offer of study at Warwick starting in September 2019. To make your application you will need:

  • Your Warwick University number, found in your offer email (please contact admissions if you do not have a University number).
  • To have fully read and understood our allocation policy and accommodation options for new postgraduate students for the 2019/20 academic year
  • To have applied through the appropriate process if you have any specific accommodation requirements, including health and disability needs

The deadline for priority applications is 31 July 2019 so please make sure you have submitted your application by this date.

When you have completed your application form, please carefully check that the details of your application, including your accommodation preferences, are correct on the confirmation page before submitting. You will also receive a confirmation email that will contain the details of your application. If there are any differences, please contact Warwick Accommodation as soon as possible. Your confirmation email will be sent to the contact email address on your student record, so please ensure you are able to access this email account. If you need to make any changes to your email address, please contact admissions.

Please visit our postgraduate accommodation options page to see your accommodation options. You will be required to select eight accommodation preferences, including a maximum of five campus options and a minimum of three off campus options, including Liberty Park, City Point and Off Campus Housing.

If you are a fee paying overseas student (as stated on your offer of study letter) and you make an off campus option (including partnership accommodation) your first preference, we may process your application between June and July 2019. In all other cases, we will begin to send out information about allocations from early August up to 12 September 2019.

You will need to submit the appropriate application as detailed on the specific accommodation requirements web page for your condition. Please be aware the deadline for your request being supported by the appropriate team is 31 July 2019, so you will need to submit the appropriate evidence in advance to ensure there is enough time for it to be assessed and for the decision to be communicated to you before the deadline.

Due to high demand, we can only accept applications for postgraduate accommodation from full year students to start in September 2019. If you are a part year postgraduate student, you can apply from mid-October 2019 for accommodation from November 2019.

We have arranged accommodation for new Warwick postgraduate students at City Point and Liberty Park, located in Coventry. Your contract will be directly with the accommodation provider and all rent will be paid to them. Both partnership accommodation halls offer en suite and studio rooms, and are finished to a high standard. For more information including information on pre-payment please see the Liberty Park and City Point pages. You will also need to pay a booking fee or deposit, and provide details of a guarantor.

If you have applied for accommodation and no longer wish to be allocated, please email allocations at warwick dot ac dot uk to let us know and we will withdraw your application. If you are looking for alternative accommodation, please make sure you have reviewed the student's union housing guidance before entering into a legally binding contract.

The deadline for priority applications is 31 July 2019. If you submit an application after this deadline it will still be considered, but will be treated as a late application, and any accommodation offer will be subject to availability.

Please look at our allocation policy for more information on how your application will be processed. While your accommodation preferences are taken into account in the allocation process, there is no guarantee that you will be allocated accommodation which matches your preferences, or that you will receive an offer of accommodation. It is also possible in years of very high demand that further accommodation options will be added or removed after you have notified us of your preferences, and you may be allocated to an option that was not advertised when your application was submitted.

If you provide a price band, this will only be taken into account if you are allocated to a Warwick Accommodation managed off-campus residence.

We will send any offers of accommodation by email. For University managed accommodation, you will get two working days to accept your offer. If you miss this deadline we may not be able to make another offer of accommodation, so it’s important to regularly check. We can only make one offer of accommodation. You are able to reject your offer, but you will need to make alternative accommodation arrangements.

If you are allocated to Partnership Accommodation such as Liberty Park or City Point, we will inform you by email, and once you have provided consent for your details to be shared, the Partnership Accommodation provider will contact you with further information. In most instances, you will need to pay a deposit or application fee to confirm your place in partnership accommodation, in addition to providing details of a suitable guarantor.

We are only able to make one offer of accommodation. If you reject your offer, we are not able to make any further offers and you will need to make your own arrangements for accommodation. For more information about private accommodation, please see the Students’ Union guidance.

If you require couple accommodation, please follow the couple accommodation application process. Before applying, please review your accommodation options carefully as they are different to the standard postgraduate options. Please do not fill out the postgraduate application form as there is a separate form for couple accommodation. If you require family accommodation, please contact Staff and Family Housing for further information.
