Covid-19 update

In light of the current Covid-19 pandemic, there may be a delay in processing your request. If you or someone within the household group you are joining are self-isolating in line with Government guidance, you will not be able to move until the self-isolation period has ended.

Specific accommodation requirements

If you have specific accommodation requirements, including applications on disability, medical, or mental health grounds, you will need to follow the relevant specific accommodation requirements process.

Students still looking for campus accommodation

To be eligible you need to be a fully enrolled full-time student at the University for the 2020/2021 academic year, and not currently be in a Warwick Accommodation contract.

  • You can complete the campus accommodation request form. Please make sure you read all the information on the form and follow the correct process.
  • You can look at campus vacancies where students are advertising their rooms in the hope of finding a suitable replacement. Students may have also advertised their rooms on the Warwick Students' Union housemates wanted forum.
  • If you are in a private accommodation contract for the current academic year you may want to seek advice from the Students' Union before completing the request form or requesting to take over a student’s room contract.
  • If you are an Incoming study abroad student please follow the Visiting, Erasmus, Exchange and Part Year Students process. You do not need to complete the campus accommodation request form.

Looking for a replacement for your campus contract

If you are looking for a suitable replacement for your campus accommodation contract, you can advertise your room through the campus replacements form and/or through the Warwick Students’ Union housemates wanted forum.

Please be aware it can approximately five working days for the advert to be created after completing the campus replacement form.

Students still looking for off campus accommodation

  • Take over a Warwick Accommodation vacancy
    Vacancies in University managed off campus properties can be found online by selecting the groups looking for housemates box in property search. If you would like to take a Warwick Accommodation vacancy, you will need to email accommodation at warwick dot ac dot uk with your name, ID number, the date you would like the room from and details of the room you are interested in. Rooms will be allocated on a first come first-served basis.
  • Take over a student vacancy
    Student vacancies in University-managed off campus properties can be found online by selecting the groups looking for housemates box in the property search. Student vacancies will have the student's contact details on the property page within the description of the advert.

    If you would like to take a vacancy advertised by a student, both yourself and the current contract holder will need to email accommodation at warwick dot ac dot uk with both names, ID numbers and the proposed date of the transfer. Warwick Accommodation will then confirm if the proposed takeover can take place. All relevant paperwork must be completed before the takeover happens. All amendments to your account will be administered by Warwick Student Finance. Please do not pay a student directly for a contract takeover.

    If the student vacancy is for a group contract, then all members of the household must all agree to the takeover. Warwick Accommodation will email the members of the group, but it is the responsibility of the student advertising the vacancy to ensure group members respond to the email before the takeover can take place.

Please note: if you book a property, there is no cooling-off period, group bookings will be cancelled if not everyone signs the agreement by the deadline. If you will be Under 18 at the time of the contract start date then you will need to contact Warwick Accommodation before booking a property.

Looking for a replacement for your off campus contract

Please complete the off campus property form to advertise on the Warwick Accommodation website. Your room will be advertised on property search and can be accessed through selecting the groups looking for housemates option. We are only able to advertise Warwick Accommodation properties on this page. Please be aware it can take approximately five working days for the advert to be created. You can also advertise your vacancy on the Warwick Students Union housemates wanted forum.

Transfers and room swaps

During the current Covid-19 pandemic, there is very limited scope for room transfers for both on campus and University managed off campus accommodation.

This is due to the need to keep changes to kitchen (household) groups to a minimum. We will not be facilitating any direct room swaps at this time.

Room transfers will only be considered on an emergency or welfare basis. If there are welfare needs, then all room changes must be approved by the Residential Life Team or the Wellbeing Team. If you have any concerns then you should contact your local Residential Life Team in the first instance.

Unauthorised room transfers will incur a financial penalty and/or disciplinary action.

Students in private accommodation will need to speak directly to their accommodation provider with regards to their transfer processes.
