What will happen after I submit my accommodation application?
If you're coming to Warwick as a first year undergaduate student, we will usually process your accommodation application after A level results have been released, when you have an unconditional firm offer of study at Warwick. If you are coming to Warwick as an IFP student, we usually process your accommodation application in late August. There's nothing you need to do until we contact you regarding your allocation from late August to early September.

If you haven't heard from us by 12 September 2022, then please get in touch with us by emailing accommodation at warwick dot ac dot uk. Please don't contact us if you haven't received an offer before this date and make sure you are regularly checking your spam/junk mail folders. Once you have enrolled and registered for an ITS account at Warwick, we will send correspondence to your Warwick email address, so please make sure you are regularly checking this account too. We will send any offers of accommodation by email. For University managed accommodation, you will get three working days to accept your offer. If you miss this deadline we may not be able to make another offer of accommodation, so it’s important to regularly check your email accounts. We can only make one offer of accommodation. You are able to reject your offer, but you will need to make alternative accommodation arrangements. If you accept your offer of accommodation for a particular hall, please note that your room allocation can change up until your date of arrival.

I'm applying for first year undergraduate accommodation but I've made Warwick my insurance choice, should I apply for accommodation?
Yes, we would encourage you to still submit an accommodation application. Please see our allocation policy for further information on how we allocate first year undergraduate students.

If I apply for accommodation after 24 August 2022 how will my application be processed?
We would encourage you to apply for accommodation as soon as possible. You will still be able to submit an application for accommodation after 24 August 2022. While we are not able to guarantee that you will be allocated a place on campus, we will endeavour to allocate you to a room, however it will be subject to availability. We will confirm arrangements for students who do not meet the guarantee criteria by the deadline from late August 2022. Please see our allocation policy for further information.

How can I let you know if I have specific accommodation requirements due to a disability, mental health condition or medical condition?
You will need to submit the appropriate application as detailed on the specific accommodation requirements webpage for your condition. Please be aware the deadline for your request being supported by the relevant team is 12 August 2022, so you will need to submit suitable evidence in advance to ensure there is enough time for it to be assessed. Please note that you will still need to submit an accommodation application separately and complete the relevant specific accommodation requirements section within the accommodation application to ensure we are aware and can take your requirements into account.

How is accommodation allocated for first year undergraduate and IFP students?
The majority of applications for students holding an unconditional offer are allocated through a series of computer ballots which aim to match students to one of their hall preferences. A ballot will take place after 24 August 2022 for students who have met all three conditions outlined in the allocation policy. While we take your preferences into account, there is no guarantee that you will be allocated to one of your preferences. Please bear in mind we may have more rooms adapted for accessibility requirements than are required for the academic year, so it is possible students who do not require adaptations will be allocated to an adapted room.

It is also possible in years of very high demand that further accommodation options will be added or removed after you have notified us of your preferences and you may be allocated to an option that was not advertised when your application was submitted.

Can I apply for accommodation if I am under the age of 18?
Yes, please see our allocation policy for further details about how we allocate accommodation for students under 18 as there are some limitations to bear in mind. Applicants who will be under 18 at the point of entry should be aware that they are applying to live in an adult environment. Please note, if you will be under 18 during the easter vacation period and you need to stay on campus, you should not select a 35 week let length option as one of your preferences as we are unable to house students under the age of 18 in vacation accommodation.

If I apply for an en suite hall as one of my preferences am I guaranteed to be allocated to one?
You can select up to three en suite halls as preferences in your application. You will need to submit a total of six preferences, including at least three shared bathroom halls. If you prefer, all your preferences can be shared bathroom options. Just over half of our accommodation is en suite, so there is a chance you will be allocated to an en suite hall. We would recommend only selecting halls you would be happy to be allocated to as one of your preferences. For more information on how we allocate please see our allocation policy.

Can I withdraw my application if I don’t like my offer and submit a new application to try to get a different room allocation as a late applicant?
If you withdraw your application and resubmit a new application you will not be guaranteed accommodation. However, should you choose to withdraw and resubmit a new application, your allocation will be the same as before if we are able to offer you accommodation.
