Meet Education Policy and Quality - staff changes in EPQ

The new year has seen a number of staff changes in EPQ, with new team members joining and existing team members starting new roles. You can always see a complete guide to who's who, our structure chart and how to get in touch with the right colleagues for each of our core services through our website.


Kim RobinsonKim Robinson has joined the team as Deputy Director and Head of Education Policy and Governance. In this role, Kim will be leading EPQ's Education Policy and Governance team in the development and institution-wide implementation of the University's Academic Regulations and supporting policy and guidance. This includes specialist policy development and drafting support, as well as high-level advice and support for operationalising education policy, projects, assurance, and governance.

Kim joins us from University College Birmingham where she was Deputy Registrar, responsible for the Academic Registry, which managed the student lifecycle following enrolment through to and including graduation. She was the lead on Academic Regulations, including quality and policy alignment with accrediting partners, of which the most recent was Warwick. You can find out more about Kim here.


Lauren BakerLauren Baker has been appointed to the more senior role of Head of Education Quality and Partnerships. Lauren has worked in EPQ leading on the quality assurance and enhancement of academic partnerships and degree apprenticeships since 2018. Before joining Warwick, she worked at the University of Westminster in a range of partnerships-focused and student-facing roles across four faculties. Lauren will lead EPQ's Education Quality and Partnerships team in the development and institution-wide implementation of the University's Quality Assurance and Enhancement Framework. This includes professional support and advice to the University community and academic partnerships on matters of academic standards, quality assurance and quality enhancement.


Jodie WallingtonJodie Wallington takes on the role of Policy Advisor (Curriculum & Partnerships). Jodie sits within EPQ's Quality and Partnerships team and will oversee the day-to-day processing of collaborative course proposals, including degree apprenticeship provision, reviewing proposals for new and revised courses, applying internal and external policy, regulation, and frameworks. Jodie will also be overseeing the approval of academic partnerships, supporting departmental colleagues in the development of new collaborations with partners. Jodie has already been with EPQ for several months as a Project Officer working on TEF and the ITLR, and will continue to work on the ITLR alongside her new role.


Si BullockSi Bullock has joined EPQ as Senior Policy Advisor (Quality Assurance), on a one-year secondment from the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). Prior to joining QAA, Si worked in education-related policy roles at the Law Society and Solicitors Regulation Authority. Si's role is focused on developing a comprehensive Quality Framework, which will provide a reference point for all quality assurance and enhancement activity across the University. Si will be undertaking extensive mapping and consultation to develop a framework that ensures our compliance with external regulation while facilitating an effective, resilient and flexible approach to QA&E for the future. Si will also provide support to the ITLR, with a focus on evaluation and outcomes.


Our ITLR Project Team has grown in the last few months to deliver our biggest project ever. The new colleagues joining us through the rest of the academic year are:

  • Sarah Mullins as Delivery Lead for the reviews of 32 academic departments, coordinating their operational delivery through Term Two and ensuring an effective focus on Quality Assurance. Sarah has a background in teaching and leading higher education, developing student engagement, and as a long-standing reviewer for the Quality Assurance Agency.
  • Cris Lima as Delivery Lead for the Common Themes strand of ITLR, supporting our academic Co-Convenors to lead the University confirming our future ambitions for Blended Learning, Interdisciplinary Learning, and Education for Sustainable Development. Cris joins us with a background in curriculum design and delivery, developing student employability and managing educational projects at King's College London.
  • Dr Kay Doncom as Project Support Officer, contributing to the smooth operational delivery of ITLR's reviews, events, analysis and outputs. Kay brings a background in research (Chemistry) and public engagement, including at Warwick where she completed a PhD in 2014.
  • Nirmala Ale as Project Administrator, supporting the administration of the project, the project team and the project's governance. Nirmala joins us wtih lots of administrative experience, including in academic departments at Warwick.
