Careers Showcase for Health and Medical Sciences, Life Sciences and Chemistry

The Careers Showcase event was created in 2024 in response to student feedback and requests for more industry-specific employer events for Chemistry, Life Sciences and Health and Medical careers.
The inaugural event which took place in October saw over 230 students in attendance who were really engaged with the employers and breakout sessions. Keynote speaker, Pete Charlton, delivered an insightful presentation into the realities of pharmaceutical and biotech careers, and this was followed by panel sessions on 'Lab versus Non-Lab Careers' and 'Skills Development for a Career in Life Sciences, Chemistry and Medicine'.
Following the success of this event it was then held again in October 2025. This time over 280 students attended the event. There were fantastic employer exhibits, CV drop-in clinics, LinkedIn headshots, WorkWear Wardrobe, and support from Student Opportunity teams offering advice on work experience, skills development and much more. The event also featured an insightful panel discussion with placement students from Pfizer and Better Pathways, and one of our TeamWork International Experience Programme alumni.
Highlights:

Employers from a variety of sectors attended, including: Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Communications, R&D, Manufacturing and Forensic Services.
- The collaboration between a number of colleagues from different services and expertise representing Warwick including TeamWork International Experience Programme, Warwick Volunteers, Student Mobility, WorkReady and Skills and Enterprise - a multi-department effort!
