Paid graduate internships

Student Careers and Skills

A number of paid graduate internships are now offered, in addition to the other services offered by the Careers and Skills Office

WJ

We fund and manage several placement and internship programmes, from undergraduate summer internships in our administration, to graduate internships with companies across the UK.

“We really appreciated the value the internship made to the work of the team, and as a result were very pleased to be able to extend the placement for a further four months.”

The Warwick Graduate Internships Programme (WGI) was launched to bring together businesses and recent Warwick graduates in a series of 8-12 week internships, starting in late December or early January each year. Employer and graduate recruitment for each cohort begins in September. Funded by the University, the programme offers employers and graduates the opportunity to benefit from the many advantages afforded by a high-quality internship.
“I would just like to take this opportunity to say that the WGI programme is SUCH a great idea! It is amazing to get this experience in a field that I have been trying to get work in and not succeeding because I was lacking in experience. A big thank you to the Placement Learning Unit for arranging all of this, and also to Warwick University for sponsoring me through this internship!”

Work experience is a vital partner for the recognised quality mark of a Warwick degree, providing both professional and personal development. While many of our students gain their own work experience – through part-time work, volunteering, competitive spring/summer programmes, and self-sourced placements – we provide our own selection of high-quality, paid internships to inspire students from across the University. Recruitment to these programmes is advertised to students, graduates and employers via myAdvantage and through Warwick Alumni newsletters.

“I have had a fantastic experience so far - I've only been here for two weeks and I have already learned a great deal. I can definitely see this experience being invaluable going forward. I am extremely grateful to the Placement team at Warwick for organising this opportunity.”
