By developing courses with common structures, the University can move more deliberately towards enabling myriad pathways through and greater interchangeability between courses where permitted by course regulations. We might also seek to develop new flagship programmes which are novel or market-leading by virtue of their structural integration whist still enabling students to benefit from wide optionality in elective elements. Interdisciplinarity has long been a strength of Warwick courses and something to which many departments are committed. However, further structural reform is now required in order to facilitate further development of interdisciplinarity.
