9.30am - 4.30pm, Thursday 27th September 2018

Woburn House Conference Centre
20-24 Tavistock Square, London WC1H 9HQ

This event has been designed to outline and stimulate discussion that will contribute to understanding how learning gain can contribute to an agenda for change in higher education. We will be bringing together the collective findings from LEGACY (www.legacy.ac.uk) and those of other programmes of research funded by HEFCE/OfS. You will have the opportunity to understand the different investigative approaches and recommendations that can impact on policy, practice, and the future utility of learning gain measurements. To register, please complete the form below.

We have a number of exciting and influential speakers and panellists invited and confirmed including:

  • The Rt Hon Lord David Willetts FRS
    Keynote title - tbc
  • Ant Bagshaw, Deputy CEO Wonkhe
Keynote title - Learning Gain in Context: where does it fit in the turbulent world of HE policy?

The event will also include a Learning Gain Panel with key figures from the sector, including Emma Maskell, Senior Higher Education Policy Advisor at Office for Students and Dr Camille Kandiko Howson, Senior Lecturer in Higher Education, Academic Head of Student Engagement at Kings College London and OfS Learning Gain Evaluator.

There will be presentations from LEGACY Strand leads from the University of Cambridge (Professor Anna Vignoles, Professor Jan Vermunt & Dr Sonia Ilie), University of Warwick (Anne Wilson & Dr Heike Behle), University of Birmingham (Eluned Jones & Dr Toni Wright) and University of Nottingham (Dr Nalayini Thambar & Dr Toni Wright) to showcase their insights into how conceptual frameworks and methodological insights might be applied across the sector.

You will also be able to choose from a range of parallel sessions which explore learning gain within the context of subject/disciplines, the curriculum and as an aspect of employability. We look forward to seeing you at the event!
