Module content and teaching

Principal aims

The aim of this module is to equip the students with the necessary skills, including both the acquisition of habits of thought and knowledge of the techniques of modern econometrics, required for research. The module covers the analysis of cross-section and limited dependent variable data (but does not cover the analysis of time-series data).

Principal learning outcomes

By the end of the module the students will have developed the necessary skills needed for empirical research: important elements of the research training of all professional economists.

Timetabled teaching activities

There will be two lectures per week, classes in STATA in weeks 3 and 4 of the Autumn term, and weekly problem classes in the following weeks.
