Module content and teaching

Principal aims

The purpose of the module is to allow advanced students to begin work on a long writing project, which can be a novel, a novella, a collection of poetry, or any other form for which we can offer proper support in the department.

Principal learning outcomes

By the end of the module students should have: acquired knowledge and experience of writing a long project such as all or a substantial part of a novel or a collection of stories or poems, or a biography or other form of creative non-fiction; read relevant primary and secondary literature in the genre; improved their critcal skills

Timetabled teaching activities

2 hour weekly seminar plus individual one-to-one sessions
