Module content and teaching

Principal aims

"This is a double module and is intended to provide you with structured guidance through the planning, implementation and evaluation of a practical research project based upon taught drama schemes that you will plan and teach yourself. The spring term will consist of weekly sessions in which you will examine research methodologies and begin to plan your specific project. In the summer term you will carry out your fieldwork and write your research report, meeting regularly with a specific tutor for guidance. For full-time students, this is envisaged as a collaborative process where groups of you will work together to design schemes of work that will be taught in a particular school, with your key focus on improving practice by understanding it more clearly. Although you will be teaching together, your individual research focuses will be different. You will be given help and guidance in finding your specific focus. Part-time students are more likely to work individually within their own sites of practice but collaborative work with other students should be welcomed wherever possible. "
