Module content and teaching

Principal aims

To introduce students to the historical background to and contemporary legal and policy framework of international public finance; To provide a deeper understanding of international public financial flows and the operations of the main international, regional and national actors involved in the mobilisation and delivery of international public finance; To evaluate the purpose and rationale of international public finance and assess the legal and policy implications of international public finance interventions; To critically analyse contemporary and future trajectories of international public finance in light of current trends and developments and future impacts, including impacts on national finance and sovereign debt, financial and economic stability, sovereign self-determination and environmental sustainability; To understand the efficacy of international public finance and the current and future international legal and regulatory framework governing international public financial and monetary relations.
