Module content and teaching

Principal aims

Module Aims: To enable the students to apply the work from previous modules into a biological research project covering the different disciplines of the MRC Doctoral Training programme.

Principal learning outcomes

By the end of the module the student should be able to: Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the remit of biological research and apply to an interdisciplinary environment; To undertake and execute an experimental biological research programme; To undertake and execute an experimental biological research programme involving appropriate instrumentation and the generation of data; Demonstrate higher level skills that are indicative of competent ability to undertake a research project involving biological molecules; Demonstrate their ability to synthesise knowledge and apply their project work in a biological research environment; Demonstrate a critical understanding of the complexities and practice of biological research.
