Module content and teaching

Principal aims

This module will address selected central topics in Metaphysics and Epistemology through the careful study and discussion of seminal articles in the area.

Principal learning outcomes

Students will acquire a detailed understanding of the major positions and arguments constituting four central issues in Metaphysics and four central issues in Epistemology.

Timetabled teaching activities

Weekly seminars initiated by a student presentation based on set reading for the topic under discussion. The student giving the presentation will also receive a tutorial on the issues involved before giving his/her presentation to the seminar.
