Module content and teaching

Principal aims

This course aims to give the student an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of an IT manager by exploring the three key areas of technical, organisational and information management.

Principal learning outcomes

On completion, the participant will: Understand the principles of management of information as a Corporate Resource; Understand the general day to day operational requirements of medium to large scale IT systems; Understand the issues surrounding the implementation, maintenance and running of new or modified systems; Understand the security risks that can threaten the IT systems and possibly the organisation as a whole.
