Module content and teaching

Principal aims

"The course will consist of 2 broad sections:1. The financial system - institutions, instruments and the links between them; 2. Monetary policy - the theory and the practice. This course provides a more detailed discussion of the key issues in the theory and practice of financial markets, banking, monetary policy and, importantly, their interaction. It is therefore of importance to those who wish to pursue further courses in these areas, or to go on to post-graduate study. However, the course will also embed a strong practical and policy-related element including lectures from current investment bankers giving those interested in a career in financial markets a rare opportunity to combine their academic studies with their interest in a future career in such a direct manner. "
