Module content and teaching
Principal aims
The module will analyse the changing nature of families in diverse communities locally and globally. Issues such as migration, child labour, and notions of culture and community, will be covered. It will also raise questions about child rights and protection issues in policy and practice. It will consider the diversity of childhood identities, activities and education in various countries and cultures, both in the North and South to construct an understanding of definition of childhood and experiences within the family context.
