Module content and teaching
Principal aims
This second year short module will introduce students to the major developments in Italian Baroque sculpture and painting, placed in their social and intellectual contexts. It engages with key artists: Bernini, Caravaggio, Barocci, Annibale Caracci.
Principal learning outcomes
It will prime those students going to Venice in the autumn term of their third year, familiarising them with the Baroque period and the broader study of Italian art.
