Module content and teaching

Principal aims

This intensive module covers the syllabus and outcomes of both Spanish 3 and Spanish 4. It aims to improve and strengthen reading writing skills, listening and speaking skills and develop greater fluency in a Spanish-speaking environment.

Principal learning outcomes

"By the end of the module, students should be able to: understand the essentials of grammar and syntax; demonstrate a competence in basic writing; understand short texts in the target language; demonstrate a reasonable standard of pronunciation and be able to communicate orally in basic situations; understand spoken language show a range of vocabulary and strategies for dealing with unknown vocabulary."

Timetabled teaching activities

3 hours language classes each week, plus at least 3 hours structured independent learning each week. Commencing Term 1, week 2.
