Module content and teaching
Principal aims
The module aims are twofold: to revise the calculus, algebra and trigonometry of the A-level syllabus, and to improve students' fluency in these topics, to ensure that they are prepared for the mathematical content of the year 1 physics modules and to develop students problem solving skills in physics
Principal learning outcomes
On successful completion of this module you should be able to: Successfully tackle mathematical problems that require understanding of the A-level mathematics syllabus in calculus, trigonometry and algebra; Use the knowledge they have obtained from lectures and reading to successfully tackle appropriate problems in the physics covered by year 1 modules.
