Module content and teaching
Principal aims
This module provides an introduction to the Industrial Engineering (IE) tools and techniques. Students will gain an appreciation of the ways in which these tools and techniques can be used to full y support the Business objectives, usually in the form of standards data and productivity improvements. Opportunities are provided for students to explore applications of the tools and techniques in different situations, in order to understand which to tools to use and how to maximise potential benefits.
Principal learning outcomes
On completion, participants will be able to: Understand how Industrial Engineering can support the Company Strategy; Understand the full contribution which Industrial Engineering can make to a modern business; Appreciate where and how a range of Industrial Engineering tools, techniques and systematic approach can be used; Use the practical experience gained on the module to enable participants to apply the learning beneficially to other situations.
