Module content and teaching
Half the MSc course credit comprises a substantial project appropriate to the course of study. This entails an in-depth experimental, theoretical or computational investigation of a topic chosen by the student in conjunction with an academic supervisor. Topics for projects will change annual and are linked directly to the research interests of supervisors.
Principal learning outcomes
There is a project handbook that provides support to what is required of you to meet the learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the project for the award of the qualification. The project selection happens in October/November and there are a number of research method exercises towards the project work that are timetabled within the period for taught module teaching. You will work full time on your individual project in the months of May to August. Submission of the dissertation and your oral presentation will happen within the first two working weeks of September.
