Module content and teaching

Principal aims

This course aims (a) to identify the primary legal issues which usually arise from international business transactions; (b) to examine these issues and the legal aspects thereof; (c) to analyse contractual terms and conditions by referring to decided cases; and (d) to examine jurisdictional problems and the method of determining the governing law of contracts relating to international business transactions.

Principal learning outcomes

"On completion of this unit, students will have knowledge of: the primary issues arising from international business transactions; the method of negotiating and concluding such contracts; the precautionary measures which should be taken into account in determining the terms and conditions of these contracts; and the methods of settling jurisdictional problems and disputes arising under such contracts. "
