Module content and teaching
Principal aims
the dissertatio aims to equip students with advanced knowledge and understanding of a chosen area of French or francophone studies. It allows the student to extend or deepen coverage in the discipline as well as hone research techniques, organisational skills and the ability to present material cogently and in an appropriate scholarly format.
Principal learning outcomes
by the end of the dissertation, students shoul be able to demonstrate the ability to deploy research skills as appropriate to their chosen topic of study, undertake analysis of sources, identify and provide meaningful and sustained discussion of one or more complex issues in the history, culture, thought or politics of the French-speaking world and demonstrate awareness of trends in the discipline of French studies and cognate disciplines.
