Module content and teaching
The aims of this module are to interest students in: the psychology of perceiving, planning and acting; neuropsychological deficits in perceiving, planning and action; attention; and the role of perception in the control and guidance of movement.
Principal learning outcomes
"After taking this module students should: have knowledge of neuropsychological deficits in perception, planning and action; understand how neuropsychological impairments can help develop theories for intact perception, planning and action; understand and evaluate classic theories behind selective attention; understand that perception and action are interdependent processes; understand how the visual and somatosensory systems are involved in the control and planning of movement; understand how complex movements can be generated by simple mechanisms. "
Timetabled teaching activities
Length of module: 12 weeks. One lecture per week; one seminar per fortnight. Attendance at lectures and seminars is compulsory.
