Module content and teaching

Principal aims

This module will introduce the contemporary theorisation of and empirical approaches to the relationship between media and society. In doing so it seeks to de-glamorise the media and demonstrate how rapid technological advances are transforming everyday communications and individual and collective orientations and responses to media institutions, texts and events.

Timetabled teaching activities

Autumn term. One weekly 2-hour lecture and one weekly 1-hour seminar.
