Objectives
- To keep everyone safe within our community, both on and off campus
- To provide a professional, helpful and friendly service to all
- To uphold good order on campus
- To encourage good practice regarding safety and security
- To encourage compliance with the University's regulations on traffic and parking
- To reduce the incidence of property crime
We will help reduce
- Personal threats to security and safety
- Disorderly and threatening behaviour
- The risk of personal injury
- Noise detrimental to study and work
- Damage to University buildings and land
- Damage to cars and other personal property
- Theft of personal and University property
- Theft of and from motor vehicles
Specific services you can expect
- Professional, courteous and helpful staff
- An immediate response to fire alarms, first aid support and emergency calls
- An immediate response to activated intruder and personal safety alarms
- The attendance of an officer to the scene of an alleged crime on campus within an hour of the report
- A response to correspondence within five working days
- Effective liaison with West Midlands and Warwickshire Police
How you can assist
- Immediately notify any suspicious behaviour to the Campus Security Control Centre on ext. 22083, or 024 7652 2083 (from an external phone or mobile)
- Do your bit! Read and act on appropriate crime prevention advice quickly
- Ensure all your valuable property is properly marked so it can be returned to you easily if it is found
- Ensure no unauthorised persons have access to your campus accommodation
- Ensure your workplace or accommodation is secure whilst unoccupied
- Always lock your bike when you leave it anywhere, preferably using a 'D'-type lock
- Report criminal offences
- Be the 'eyes and ears' for Campus Security
