Collaborate to Train

A group of leading educational institutions and local authorities across Coventry and Warwickshire have joined forces in a programme called Collaborate to Train, providing superior recruitment and training options to businesses in the area.

Collaborate to Train is supported by the European Social Fund and benefits businesses by improving the ways in which education providers, local authorities and other stakeholders work together by combining recruitment and training expertise across the Coventry and Warwickshire LEP area. It aims to engage over 250 local small businesses over a three year period and improve access to new talent whilst providing high quality, effective education and training services in a more collaborative, business-led way.

The partnership is led by Warwickshire College Group and includes the University of Warwick, City College Coventry, Coventry University Social Enterprise, Coventry City Council and Warwickshire County Council.

The project enables the partners to act as a gateway to a variety of recruitment options, connecting businesses with the right partner to access services. Businesses may be looking for students on placement or work experience, graduates, apprentices or school leavers, but the main benefit of Collaborate to Train is the help each partner can offer businesses so they can recruit in the best way for their individual needs. Collaborate to Train also encourages businesses to get involved with activities in local schools, whether to offer work experience opportunities or to help with school interventions.

The project is now in its final year with over 250 small businesses benefiting from the project so far.

To find out more and to get involved fill in the employer enquiry form on the Collaborate to Train website, or contact any of the partners directly.

Collaborate to Train has brought together provision in the LEP area under a shared mechanism. We are finding ways to work across areas that were previously difficult. The main outcome is that businesses will be able to fulfil their recruitment and training needs from pool of local providers. Ultimately, this saves time for busy businesses and prevents them from having to work with multiple organisations individually.
