Application form to become a Mentor

Your career background

Are you currently working? (required)

Matching you with a mentee

What additional information would you be willing to share to enable us to best match you a mentee?
This could include gender, change in career, interests and hobbies, race, ethnicity, living in a range of locations or staying in one area, working for the same employer or changing employers/roles, disability etc.

Please note you are not required to supply any additional information but we look for mentors from a range of backgrounds and the details you provide may help us to match you to a suitable student or a student who has requested support from a mentor with a similar background to them.

In the interest of privacy and data protection, please provide contact information you use in a professional context. We would strongly advise against providing your mentee with personal numbers, emails or social media handles.

I understand that the aim of the mentoring programme is not to match me with a mentee whose careers goals are aligned specifically with the organisation I represent, or the sector or industry I am in, or from degree subjects to which my organisation may recruit. The role of the mentor is to provide impartial support and mentors are not permitted to advertise their own or a client’s vacancies where the student has not expressed interest themselves. (required)

While we will work to match you with mentees with similar interests, we are keen to promote the value impartial mentors from any sector or industry can bring to a range of mentees from across the university.
