How SafeZone works

Once you've downloaded the app, SafeZone gives you quick, direct access to help and key safety features – all at your fingertips.

Emergency help

Tap to instantly alert Community Safety if you're in danger or need urgent help.

Request first aid

Get medical assistance quickly, wherever you are on campus.

Check in

Let Community Safety know you're working alone or outside normal hours.

Receive safety alerts

Stay informed with real-time notifications during emergencies or incidents.

When you might use SafeZone

SafeZone isn’t just for emergencies – it’s designed to support staff and students in everyday situations, too. Here are a few ways it can help you feel safer and more connected on campus and beyond.



Working late or out of hours

Whether you’re finishing a project in the library or working late in a lab, use the check in feature so Community Safety knows you’re there and can respond quickly if needed.

Walking across campus at night

Heading home after an evening lecture or late shift? With SafeZone open on your phone, support is just a tap away if you feel unsafe or need assistance.

You or someone needs help

If you or a colleague feels unwell or is injured, you can use the First Aid option in the app to quickly alert Community Safety and request help.

Something doesn’t feel right

You notice suspicious behaviour or an unfamiliar person in a restricted area. You can discreetly request help or report the concern through SafeZone.

You receive an emergency alert

In the event of a fire, severe weather, or security incident, SafeZone can send real-time alerts so you know what’s happening and what to do – fast.
